Here's what I just came across while on the you-know-what:

                      'Madam' Nancy Pelosi's Brothel

The real 'Madam' in Washington DeCeased wants to investigate law-abiding citizens who oppose the Ground Zero mosque!
This is Pelosi's way to muddy the waters and draw attention away from her Marxist comrades with their criminal bent.
What she really wants to divert attention away from is the literal sex brothel she's sworn to protect and defend in her San Francisco district!
Think I'm kidding? Just Google "Madam Nancy Pelosi's brothel district" which is in the latest version of "Imam Bloomberg's Sharia Mosque."
Nancy reminds me of an Egyptian travel poster: SEE NILE!

The only reason building a mosque "nearby" (I mean, let's face it 2-3 blocks in New York City is hardly right next door) would be insensitive is if one generalized the extremists of 9/11 as the standard for Muslims everywhere. It would only be insensitive if one was more concerned about the anger over 9/11 than about moving forward together in a country founded on the ideals diversity and mutual respect.

I'm not sure what the basis is for your argument that building the mosque nearby "flies in the face of common sense and reason". It might fly in the face of what you consider good taste, but the building itself presents no logical conundrum. It's not the same situation as say, building a waste processing plant right next to a school. THAT might defy logic and common sense, but the building of the mosque isn't a logical issue, it's an emotional one.

I understand the right of the people to express themselves. Even if I don't agree with much of America's opposition to the mosque, I have absolutely no problem with them voicing that opinion. I would caution, however, against blindly following the line of reasoning that says that because the majority of America is against the mosque, it should be placed elsewhere. Things like the emancipation of slaves and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 did not happen because the majority of the country wanted them to; they happened because a small portion of the country fought for those concessions.

It should be noted that the " amnesty " Mr. Elliot is speaking of is, at the very least, an 8 year process which includes a vigorous criminal background check which is described in the democrats immigration reform plan.
