In the 1980s, Ronald Reagan bridged the gap between Republicans and Democrats and served 2 terms as President of the United States. How did this occur? Simple. A coalition of Republicans and Democrats, joined forces to form an unbeatable alliance of Americans who were fed up with the policies and, the failings of Jimmy Carter. One of those failings being the Iranian hostage situation. Now, how did this coalition form? The Republican Party became the self-titled ” party of inclusion”. What that means is this, the Republican party began a campaign of tolerance and acceptance. They became willing to accept the fact that people had different beliefs and values, thus creating a bipartisan coalition. Over time, we have seen this policy erode probably to the point of no return. That became extremely obvious to me yesterday.

Over the last 2o years or so, we have witnessed the emergence of conservative political commentators such as Rush Limbaugh, aka the ” voice of conservativism “, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, the most controversial columnist out there, Glen Beck and a few others. One of those others being Michele Malkin. Malkin is a contributor to a conservative publication called ” Human Events”. Her book, ” Culture of Corruption ” is on the New York Times #1 best seller’s list. Yesterday, while on the wildly popular social networking site Facebook, I came across a post on the Human Events page which said ” Michelle Malkin: There are an estimated 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil shale in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming alone — enough to potentially free us from Saudi oil dependence. Yet as Obama’s interior secretary, Salazar has wielded his power to halt plans to lease oil shale rights in the West. ” It is a quote from her recent article titled ” The Democrat’s War on the West. ” Well, I happen to disagree with part of this statement, that part being ” enough to potentially free us from Saudi oil dependence. ” I don’t agree that America is dependent on Saudi oil, so, naturally, I posted a comment. That comment, in its entirety said this ” Less than 20% of the amount of oil America uses a day comes from the middle east. It doesn’t sound like we’re dependent on Saudi oil. As an American who, strives for truth in politics and government, I find it necessary to ask you to refrain from misleading the public in this fashion. I agree with you in principle that Secretary Salazar is dead wrong. America must continue to utilize domestic oil sources and other energy forms. ” I felt Malkin’s statement was inaccurate and misleading. I still do. Well, after posting my comment, the flood gates opened. One person commented that I was not being honest because I did not include the percentages from other countries. My response was ” My point was one particular statement in the article. I felt insulted by it because I knew differently. I knew the statement wasn’t factual. These kinds of deceptions lead to things like the ” Fairness doctrine “. BS is still BS even if it comes from a Republican. It is a deceptive statement and I stand by my comment. I don’t believe any good comes from getting anything from countries of that ilk. There has to be a better way and a better source. Maybe we should find out how much it would hurt to cut off whatever percentage of oil we get from the Middle East. I’ll tell right now , that source would be replaced in a hurry. ” Another commenter posted this gem ” From the U.S. Energy Information Administration:
“In 2008, about 57% of the petroleum consumed by the United States was imported from foreign countries.”

Can you read Willard? OVER 50% of our consumption is IMPORTED!
…
Why do we need to import that amount?!?! My response was this, ” insulting my intelligence gets you this. Malkin’s statement that I commented on was about America being dependent on SAUDI OIL! Maybe YOU should learn how to read. Or, more importantly, learn some comprehension! Let me put this in easy terms so the less learned like yourself can understand AMERICA IS NOT DEPENDENT ON SAUDI OIL! It is wrong to state that we are.
One thing I do agree with, we do import way too much oil. I believe i touched on that in my first comment. This person responded with ” In order to insult something it must be possessed. ” Now, I may not be the brightest bulb in the lamp, but I certainly am not a moron. Another person made this comment ” f you want to know what people like Willard W Masters are up to buy “Rules For Radicals” by Saul Alinski and “The Coming Insurrection” by The Invisible Committee. He is looking at RFR for tactics and TCI for strategy. Here is a link: ” Obviously, I will not post the link. This same person referred to me as a ” socialist poser “. That comment was removed from the page. This went on and on and, is still going on. One of my most important comments was this ” Its funny how Republicans accuse democrats of name calling and insults when we don’t agree with them. Yet, its perfectly acceptable for one republican to do the exact same thing to a fellow republican when he disagrees with one of the ” lords of conservativeism “! The last time I checked, I had a right to my opinion and, a right to express that opinion. ( Names removed ), I don’t know who gave you too gentlemen the right to call me uneducated and a socialist poseur, and at this point I really don’t care. The fact of the matter is, I will continue to express my opinion the way I see fit and I don’t care who doesn’t like it! I have never been, nor will I ever be a member of anyone’s flock! ”

There has been some back-peddling on the part of one of those who made comments.

I guess what it comes down to is, the Republican Party’s policy of tolerance and acceptance died with Ronald Reagan. It has been replaced with the ” if you’re not with us, you’re against us ” policy. Translation, if you don’t blindly follow the rantings of the ” lords of conservativeism ” you are the enemy.

So much for the idea of thinking for ourselves, and, the concepts of free speech and expression.

One of our biggest mistakes in the aftermath of 9/11 was naming our response to the attacks “the war on terror” instead of accurately identifying radical Islamists (and the underlying ideology of radical Islamism) as the target of our campaign. This mistake has led to endless confusion about the nature of the ideological and material threat facing the civilized world and the scale of the response that is appropriate.

Radical Islamism is more than simply a religious belief. It is a comprehensive political, economic, and religious movement that seeks to impose sharia–Islamic law–upon all aspects of global society.

Many Muslims see sharia as simply a reference point for their personal code of conduct. They recognize the distinction between their personal beliefs and the laws that govern all people of all faiths.

For the radical Islamist, however, this distinction does not exist. Radical Islamists see politics and religion as inseparable in a way it is difficult for Americans to understand. Radical Islamists assert sharia’s supremacy over the freely legislated laws and values of the countries they live in and see it as their sacred duty to achieve this totalitarian supremacy in practice.

Some radical Islamists use terrorism as a tactic to impose sharia but others use non-violent methods–a cultural, political, and legal jihad that seeks the same totalitarian goal even while claiming to repudiate violence. Thus, the term “war on terrorism” is far too narrow a framework in which to think about the war in which we are engaged against the radical Islamists.

Sharia and Western Civilization

Sharia law is used in many Muslim countries to justify shocking acts of barbarity including stoning, the execution of homosexuals, and the subjugation of women. Sharia does not permit freedom of conscience; it prohibits Muslims from renouncing their Islamic faith or converting to another religion. Sharia does not support religious liberty; it treats non-Muslims as inferior and does not accord them the same protections as Muslims. In these and other instances, sharia is explicitly at odds with core American and Western values. It is an explicit repudiation of freedom of conscience and religious liberty as well as the premise that citizens are equal under the law.

Thus, the radical Islamist effort to impose sharia worldwide is a direct threat to all those who believe in the freedoms maintained by our constitutional system.

Creeping Sharia in the United States

In some ways, it speaks of the goodness of America that we have had such difficulty coming to grips with the challenge of radical Islamists. It is our very commitment to religious liberty that makes us uncomfortable with defining our enemies in a way that appears linked with religious belief.

However, America’s commitment to religious liberty has given radical Islamists a potent rhetorical weapon in their pursuit of sharia supremacy. In a deliberately dishonest campaign exploiting our belief in religious liberty, radical Islamists are actively engaged in a public relations campaign to try and browbeat and guilt Americans (and other Western countries) to accept the imposition of sharia in certain communities, no matter how deeply sharia law is in conflict with the protections afforded by the civil law and the democratic values undergirding our constitutional system.

The problem of creeping sharia is most visibly on display in France and in the United Kingdom, where there are Muslim enclaves in which the police have surrendered authority and sharia reigns. However, worrisome cases are starting to emerge in the United States that show sharia is coming here. Andy McCarthy’s writings, including his new book The Grand Jihad, have been invaluable in tracking instances in which the American government and major public institutions have been unwilling to assert the protections of American law and American values over sharia’s religious code. Some examples include:

In June 2009, a New Jersey state judge rejected an allegation that a Muslim man who punished his wife with pain for hours and then raped her repeatedly was guilty of criminal sexual assault, citing his religious beliefs as proof that he did not believe he was acting in a criminal matter. “This court believes that he was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited.” Thankfully, this ruling was reversed in an appellate court.

In May 2008, a disabled student at a public college being assisted by a dog was threatened by Muslim members of the student body, who were reluctant to touch the animal by the prescription of sharia. The school, St. Cloud State, chose not to engage the Muslim community, but simply gave the student credit without actually fulfilling the class hours so as to avoid conflict.

In a similar instance in November 2009, a high school senior in Owatonna, Minn., was suspended in order to protect him from the threat of violence by radical Islamists when he wrote an essay about the special privileges afforded his Somali Muslim counterparts in the school environment.

In order to accommodate sharia’s prohibition of interest payments in financial transactions, the state of Minnesota buys homes from realtors and re-sells them to Muslims at an up-front price. It is simply not the function of government to use tax money to create financial transactions that correspond to a religious code. Moreover, it is a strategy to create a precedent for legal recognition of sharia within U.S. law.

Amazingly, there are strong allegations that the United States now owns the largest provider of sharia financing in the world: AIG.

Last month, police in Dearborn, Mich., which has a large Muslim population, arrested Christian missionaries for handing out copies of the Gospel of St. John on charges of “disturbing the peace.” They were doing so on a public street outside an Arab festival in a way that is completely permissible by law, but, of course, forbidden by sharia’s rules on proselytizing. This is a clear case of freedom of speech and the exercise of religious freedom being sacrificed in deference to sharia’s intolerance against the preaching of religions other than Islam.

Shockingly, sharia honor killings-in which Muslim women are murdered by their husbands, brothers or other male family members for dishonoring their family-are also on the rise in America but do not receive national attention because they are considered “domestic disturbances.” (A recent article in Marie Claire Magazine highlights recent cases and the efforts to bring national attention to this horrifying trend.)

Cases like this will become all the more common as radical Islamists grow more and more aggressive in the United States.

It is in this context that the controversy over the proposed mosque near Ground Zero must be seen.

Exposing Radical Islamist Hypocrisy at Ground Zero

There are many reasons to doubt the stated intentions of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the man behind the Ground Zero mosque. After 9/11 he did not hesitate to condemn the United States as an “accessory” to the attacks but more recently refused to condemn Hamas as a terrorist organization. This is unsurprising considering he has well-established ties to U.S. branches of the Muslim Brotherhood. He has also refused to reveal the sources of funding for the mosque project, which is projected to cost $100 million.

More importantly, he is an apologist for sharia supremacy. In a recent op-ed, Rauf actually compared sharia law with the Declaration of Independence. This isn’t mere dishonesty; it is an Orwellian attempt to cause moral confusion about the nature of radical Islamism.

The true intentions of Rauf are also revealed by the name initially proposed for the Ground Zero mosque–”Cordoba House”–which is named for a city in Spain where a conquering Muslim army replaced a church with a mosque. This name is a very direct historical indication that the Ground Zero mosque is all about conquest and thus an assertion of Islamist triumphalism which we should not tolerate.

They say they’re interfaith, but they didn’t propose the building of a mosque, church and synagogue. Instead they proposed a 13-story mosque and community center that will extol the glories of Islamic tolerance for people of other faiths, all while overlooking the site where radical Islamists killed almost 3,000 people in a shocking act of hatred.

Building this structure on the edge of the battlefield created by radical Islamists is not a celebration of religious pluralism and mutual tolerance; it is a political statement of shocking arrogance and hypocrisy.

We need to have the moral courage to denounce it. It is simply grotesque to erect a mosque at the site of the most visible and powerful symbol of the horrible consequences of radical Islamist ideology. Well-meaning Muslims, with common human sensitivity to the victims’ families, realize they have plenty of other places to gather and worship. But for radical Islamists, the mosque would become an icon of triumph, encouraging them in their challenge to our civilization.

Apologists for radical Islamist hypocrisy are trying to argue that we have to allow the construction of this mosque in order to prove America’s commitment to religious liberty. They say this despite the fact that there are already over 100 mosques in New York City.

In fact, they’re partially correct-this is a test of our commitment to religious liberty. It is a test to see if we have the resolve to face down an ideology that aims to destroy religious liberty in America, and every other freedom we hold dear.

Tucker Carlson’s website, the Daily Caller, has unearthed a treasure trove of liberal journalists talking (nastily) to themselves in a private e-mail list about how they should use their media power to remake the world in their image. The funniest thing about this expose of JournoList was witnessing journalists say it was unfair to leak these e-mails when reporters had an “expectation of privacy.” More than 90,000 pages of secret documents on Afghanistan have been leaked and journalists are tripping over one another in a mad stampede to cover the story. Everyone should laugh heartily at leak-devouring journalists getting a fistful of their own bitter pills.

The saddest thing about all this is the confirmation (as if it were necessary) that liberal journalists really aren't journalists first. They’re political strategists. They pretend to be the Hollywood version of Woodward and Bernstein, the brave sleuths digging out government malfeasance and corruption. But in reality, they’re the Woodward and Bernstein who plotted how to get Richard Nixon impeached and ready the way for pacifist and socialist “Watergate babies” like Chris Dodd and Henry Waxman to take seats of power. Ethics are only relevant if they’re a weapon.

Arizona’s new law which aims to crack down on illegal aliens is set to take effect in just a few days. Ahead of the July 29 implementation date, lawsuits are flying, and the media are trying everything they can to draw attention to this “controversial” law. The problem is that its not controversial. Its straightforward, inline with federal law, and is supported by vast majority of Arizona residents. That, of course, doesn’t stop liberals from trying to make controversy where controversy doesn’t exist.

Its amazing what so-called journalists will do to either stir things up in their favor or tone things down in order to draw sympathy for their cause. Take this Reuters story as an example: Migrants sell up, flee Arizona ahead of crackdown. In it, we can see that it becomes a challenge for the writer to see how many different ways he can describe a person in this country illegally without actually using the word “illegal.”

Willard,

Members of Congress are heading home, and it’s time for the MRC Action team to swing into action!

“Our freedom, culture and way of life are under siege,” said Media Research Center founder Brent Bozell in an exclusive video message that he has just recorded for Action team members.

In this message, Brent challenges you to use the month-long Congressional recess to do what the liberal media flatly refuse to do – bring the truth to light.

Click here now to listen to Brent’s call to action.

++Putting Lawmakers on the Record

Willard, after members of Congress passed a job killing energy bill, a job killing health care bill, a stimulus bill that stimulated nothing but our national debt, they’re coming back to their districts for a seven week summer recess.

Some of our Representatives will be holding town halls during this time; we need our Action team members there!

The left wing media has failed to question our elected officials about the disasterous policies they’ve pursued and now the damage they’ve done could take decades to fix. That’s why it is up to American citizens, to once again take matters into their own hands.

Get your Representative on the record on what he thinks about President Obama touring the globe apologizing to third world dictators for the “sins” of the US.

Ask why they’ll still have top-notch health care funded by the taxpayers, while those same taxpayers, their employers, will face waiting lists and rationing of their care.

Ask why this could be the first time in our nation’s history that parents don’t pass along to their children a better country than the one they received.

Many members will choose to hide from their constituents, afraid to answer these very questions. GO TO THEIR OFFICE. These men and women represent us! Our tax dollars pay for their salaries, health care, office, staff and travel. They owe the American people an explanation.

Make certain to take video, audio or at least notes on his response, we’ll post it on our website. Don’t let Nancy Pelosi’s enablers in the liberal media get away with not reporting on Members of Congress this August!

We’ve been fighting hard against this big government onslaught. We cannot let up, our children’s birthright is slipping away as we build a mountain of debt to finance an army of left wing bureaucrats.

Willard, it was last year at this time many Members of Congress first found out that the American people reject President Obama’s socialist agenda! A lot of embarassing videos were taken at these town hall meetings.

Videos of Representatives revealing their contempt for the people who elected them to Congress in the first place caused a lot of controversy across the country. These videos were crucial to galvanizing the opposition to an out-of-control White House and Congress.

If you’re not sure about your Representative’s commitment to a US government bound by our Constitution, then bring a copy of The Mount Vernon Statement when you go see your Congressman. Ask your member where he or she stands on our founding principles, and encourage them to recommit to them by signing their name to The Mount Vernon Statement.

Thank you for being a vital part of what we do at the MRC.

Encourage them to sign The Mount Vernon Statement.

excellent job of hiding and diminishing what we’re calling
Elena Kagan’s “stained dress.”

Remember the Clinton-Lewinsky affair? Clinton denied any
wrongdoing until the stained dress was presented. That
dress provided the undeniable proof confirming Monica
Lewinski’s testimony.

We have the equivalent of Elena Kagan’s “stained dress”
in hand-written notes she wrote proving that she personally
manipulated a scientific finding of the American College
of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ (ACOG) that helped
sway the Supreme Court to rule in favor of partial-birth
abortion.

Not just a memo from her desk, but her actual
hand-written notes!

These handwritten notes prove that Kagan
willfully and intentionally altered evidence
presented to the Supreme Court purely to
push a radical pro-abortion agenda!

Kagan’s efforts compromised ACOG’s scientific
findings and caused the Supreme Court to issue
a ruling on corrupted grounds.

Here’s the timeline, detailed by former deputy assistant
attorney general Shannen Coffin in the National Review
(see link at the end of this message):

1. Kagan, while working for Clinton, received a draft of
ACOG’s scientific finding that was being prepared for
submission to the federal courts in a key partial-birth
abortion case.

2. ACOG’s draft stated that ACOG “could identify no
circumstances under which [partial-birth abortion]. . .
would be the only option to save the life or preserve
the health of the woman.”

3. Kagan noted in an internal memo that ACOG’s finding “would
be a disaster” to Clinton’s position to keep partial-birth
abortion legal.

4. So Kagan sent a memo to ACOG suggesting new language
for ACOG’s scientific finding on partial-birth abortion.
Specifically, Kagan recommended ACOG say that partial-
birth abortion “may be the best or most appropriate
procedure in a particular circumstance to save the
life or preserve the health of a woman.” Kagan’s note
totally warped the meaning of ACOG’s original statement.

5. This statement — hand-written on the memo by Kagan –
was included word-for-word in ACOG’s final submission to
the courts. The courts then relied upon ACOG’s supposed
science, with no knowledge that a Clinton political
operative named Elena Kagan had corrupted the entire
process.

The result? Because Elena Kagan corrupted evidence before the
Supreme Court, the horrendous partial-birth abortion procedure
remained legal for years — and our legal process all the
way up to the Supreme Court was tarnished.

Again, an act that amounts to tampering with evidence was
never disclosed to the Supreme Court.

Willard, this memo is Kagan’s “stained dress.” She
must be held accountable. No Senator should consider
awarding Kagan with a seat on the high court when the
tampering of evidence by any other attorney can lead to
being disbarred or imprisoned!

++The Senate will vote in a few days…

The Senate vote on Kagan is imminent. If you are outraged
by the whitewashing of Kagan’s corrupting handwritten note
and blatant leftist advocacy, then let your voice be heard
to your two senators before they vote!

Grassfire Nation has arranged to hand-deliver personalized
letters on your behalf to key members of the Senate–
including your two Senators — prior to next week’s
Kagan votes.

Click here for more and to schedule your
letters to be hand-delivered to your two
senators and other key senators:

++ Kagan’s Senate Dance

Astoundingly, during the Senate Judiciary hearings, Kagan
did everything in her power to avoid taking responsibility
for corrupting ACOG’s scientific conclusion.

Sen. Hatch directly asked Kagan, “Did you write that memo?”
After first trying to avoid the question, Kagan barely
acknowledged that “the document is certainly in my handwriting,”
yet never admitted to being the author of the statement.

If Kagan had not written the note in her own hand, she
probably would not have ever admitted to knowing of the
document!

But we have her handwriting…

We have the equivalent of her “stained dress”!

Go here to see her document:

Read Shannen Coffin’s report for yourself. See the memo
in Kagan’s handwriting. Then, take whatever action you
feel necessary to let your voice be heard before your two
senators vote.

Section. 2.

The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their Authority;–to all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls;–to all Cases of admiralty and maritime Jurisdiction;–to Controversies to which the United States shall be a Party;–to Controversies between two or more States;– between a State and Citizens of another State;–between Citizens of different States;–between Citizens of the same State claiming Lands under Grants of different States, and between a State, or the Citizens thereof, and foreign States, Citizens or Subjects.

In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.

Every time a Supreme Court Justice announces his/her retirement and, a replacement in nominated for the seat, we go through the same rhetoric. Will he/she repeal this or enact that? We went through it when John Roberts was nominated for Chief Justice; would he repeal Roe vs Wade? Now, we’re going through it with Elena Kagan. Part of the book on Kagan is that she covets a pro-muslim approach to constitutional law; whatever the hell that means. Its not really important for the context of this article. I get email after email telling me Kagan would ” change the constitution to reflect her pro-muslim views. ” What these organizations don’t seem to realize is that the American people are aware that one lone Supreme Court Justice does not have the power or the authority to unilaterally overturn previous rulings by the Court; nor do they have the power to enact laws or change the constitution. The only way to overturn a previous Supreme Court ruling is if another case with similar circumstances passes through lower appellate courts and the high court chooses to hear it.

In the case of John Roberts, most of the rhetoric came from the media; the most influental political organization in America, an entity that is supposed to be neutral.

The bottom line, these organizations lie, distort the truth, and, play on the fears an insecurities of the American people to get what they want. We all know what they want. At some point, we, as Americans have to put a stop to the crap.

Thanks to all of you who have been phoning and faxing Senators to force a vote. You succeeded and surprised most of us.

(See the vote tally below.)

The vote was on an amendment by Sen. DeMint to forbid the use of funds to press the Obama Administration’s suit to block the Arizona enforcement law.

A vote against the amendment was a vote against states doing something about the illegal populations taking jobs from legal residents and driving up the taxpayer burden.

ACTION: Call the pro-illegal-alien Senators at 202-224-3121 and protest their vote.

Please go to your Action Board over the next few hours as we put up phone talking-point notes and faxes for you.

This roll call vote was very important so we could put these Senators on public record.

Now we have a roll call record of those U.S. Senators who oppose the Arizona enforcement law that polls show is one of the most popular public policies in America now.

While most Americans of all types like the idea of states acting to help enforce existing federal immigration laws and policies, 55 U.S. Senators voted to protect funding of federal lawsuits to handcuff states.

“Our federal government should be doing its job securing the borders, rather than trying to bully and intimidate the people of Arizona,” DeMint said in support of his amendment.

The vote was 55-43 against the DeMint amendment.

5 Democrats voted FOR consideration of the amendment and for state enforcement:

Max Baucus (D-MT)
John Tester (D-MT)
Mark Pryor (D-AR)
Blanche Lincoln (D-AR)
Ben Nelson (D-NE)

Those of you in Arkansa, Montana and Nebraska will see ways to thank these Senators on your Action Board.

And all the rest of us in the country thank the NumbersUSA activists in those three states for doing such a good job of helping these Senators understand what their constituents want on this issue and then doing it.

All other Democrats (except Bayh of Indiana who didn’t vote) voted NO on the amendment, taking the pro-illegal-alien position.

2 Republicans voted AGAINST consideration of the amendment and against state enforcement:

George Voinovich (R-OH)
Mike Johanns (R-NE)

Voinovich is a lame duck Senator who has always been a problem for us. We really are depending on you members in Ohio to put more pressure on both the Republican and Democratic candidates to promise a more pro-worker immigration position than Voinovich has provided. None of your candidates at this moment is particularly promising. The time to make any difference with them is now while they are running.

All other Republicans (except Vitter of Lousiana who didn’t vote) voted YES on the amendment, taking the pro-state-enforcement position.

It is very important than all NO voters feel some constituent pain for what they did on this. Be sure to check your Action Board for opportunities for action.

THANKS,

ROY BECK

of the court” brief supporting the pending federal

According to published reports, Mexico’s brief
“pleads with the court to declare SB 1070
unconstitutional and asserts that it has legal
standing as its interests and rights are at stake
if the law is permitted to go into effect on July 29.”

The brief warns that SB 1070 will impact and “violate”
the rights of Mexican citizens as a result of “racial
profiling”.

With the acceptance of Mexico’s brief, Bolivia, Colombia,
El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru
have all filed identical briefs challenging the new
immigration law.

+ + Allies Stepping Up in Support of AZ Law

But despite media efforts giving the appearance that the
world opposes Arizona’s new law, it simply isn’t the case.
Outside of Arizona where public support for the law is
upwards of 80 percent, nine states including Michigan,
Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina,
South Dakota, Texas, Virginia have filed briefs in support
of Arizona.

And that’s not all…

Grassfire Nation and ResistNet will be participating in
the National Immigration Policy Summit that begins on
July 30 in Phoenix. Hosted by Arizona State Senator
Russell Pearce (the architect of SB 1070), the summit
will explore ways in which your state can enact similar
“get-tough” immigration policies. The summit also
coincides with the first court ruling on the federal
lawsuit against Arizona.

Our goal is to present a minimum of 250,000 petitions of
support for the new law from citizens representing every
state in the union!

But we need your help, Willard.

We literally have just a few days to rally the additional
83,798 citizens to reach our 250,000 presentation goal.

Having already signed our petition, we are urging key
members of our team to immediately forward this message
to 30-40 friends urging them to stand as a friend of
Arizona, and against the aggressive attacks of not only
our federal government, but also Mexico, Peru and other
nations that are fueling the unmitigated flow of illegals
into our nation.

Encourage your friends to click below to sign our petition
and become part of this important show of solidarity with
the people of Arizona who have been overrun by illegals:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=30102&PID=25852919

Our team will be in Phoenix to represent the voice of the
American people on July 30, but to make the greatest impact,
we absolutely must make our 250,000 goal.

Forward this message today, and if necessary follow up with
phone calls to your friends urging them to take action!

Thanks in advance for your tremendous support.

Rowe described how Johnson tested insider opinion. He would call an ideologically wide range of acquaintances and ask their views on an issue of the day. Most responded as he expected. But when one or two said something he hadn’t expected, he would take notice. Maybe things weren’t going as he thought.

As we now know from the Journolist list-serv, where hundreds of liberal journalists chat with one another, and which was leaked to Daily Caller this week, journalists cry “racism” whenever they need to distract from bad news for Obama. (Ironically, this story did not make headlines.)

When the Rev. Jeremiah Wright scandal broke during the 2008 campaign, the first response of Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent was to demand that they start randomly picking conservatives — “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

So I guess all that hysteria about the Arizona immigration law was much ado about nothing. After months of telling us that the Nazis had seized Arizona, when the Obama administration finally got around to suing, its only objection was that the law was “pre-empted” by federal immigration law.

With the vast majority of Americans supporting Arizona’s inoffensive little law, the fact that Obama is suing at all suggests that he consulted exclusively with the craziest people in America before filing this complaint. (Which is to say, Eric Holder’s Justice Department.)

But apparently even they could find nothing discriminatory about Arizona's law. Its reassuring to know that, contrary to earlier indications, government lawyers can at least read English.

Grassfire Nation News Update:
New Name. New tax.

7/14/2010

Willard,

President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid met
behind closed doors yesterday developing a scheme to deliver
a comprehensive energy and climate package to the Senate
floor by month’s end.

According to Reid, the bill will require our nation’s
utility companies to pay a price for emitting carbon.
Appeasing liberal activists, the legislation will include
controversial greenhouse gas curbs.

++New names. New fees.

As reported by the Washington Examiner, Reid will not
include the words “cap on carbon emissions, a term that
has become politically toxic in recent months.” Also
squelched are the phrases “Cap and Tax” and “greenhouse
gasses.” Instead, Reid is calling the bill an attack on
“pollution.”

Obama and Reid are simply changing the name
with the same end result: More government
control. New taxes. New fees.

++This bill must be DOA on the Senate floor

This legislation, by whatever name, must be stopped by
a vote on the Senate floor.

Many Senators are sitting on the fence
regarding which way they’ll vote. They
know this bill is “toxic” in a very
volatile election year for incumbents.

Now is the time to tell your Senators to vote
against this tax invasion masquerading as
a “Cap and Trade” bill – by another name.

+ + 400,000 petition signatures will flood the Senate

As of now, over 364,000 citizens, like you, have signed
the Grassfire petition urging the Senate to defeat any
“Cap and Tax” bill disguised as “climate change” legislation.
Grassfire Nation has scheduled the next hand-delivery
of petitions once that total exceeds 400,000 signers.

Thank you for already signing our petition.
For further impact, consider calling your
two Senators and let them know what you
think about imposing a new carbon tax on
the nation.

Sen. Specter 202-224-4254

Sen. Casey 202-224-6324

Willard, it is a forgone conclusion that we, the utility
customers, the end users, are the people who will
ultimately pay the price for this unnecessary tax and
legislation based on flawed findings.

President Obama has been determined to impose an unwanted
“Cap and Trade” agenda on unreceptive Americans using any
conceivable tactic.

Using the Gulf Oil Spill, our nations’ worst
environmental catastrophe as a catalyst, Obama
called for new climate legislation. He
threatened to have the EPA enact regulatory
authority to impose new standards and fees
on industries, which Congress rejected. Now,
yet another attempt to crack open the door
with a scaled back version of the same Obama
trickery.

We must short-circuit this legislation. Let the Senate hear
your voice by signing the petition. These 400,000 signatures
will be hand-delivered to your Senator’s doors the week Reid
unveils his newly named “Cap and Tax.”

Please forward this message to 20-30 friends, urging them
to join with you against Obama’s coming “Cap and Tax”
scheme by clicking on the link below:

Again, make your calls, and then forward this important update.
With your help we can rally and mobilize an additional 50,000
signers – pushing us past the 400,000 petition mark in the days ahead.

Thanks again for taking action with us!

Your friends at Grassfire Nation

P.S. A new tax by another other name still picks Americans’
pockets the same. It’s our imposed cost for more government
control. Click here to sign our petition.

Grassfire Nation Update
America’s Amnesty Crisis

Willard,

The Obama team just played the race card in Arizona.

Attorney General Holder is not only refusing to back down
on the Obama lawsuit against Arizona’s new immigration law
(S.B. 1070), he is now threatening a second lawsuit.

Holder said that in six months or a year the federal
government could come back and file a lawsuit against
Arizona to determine “whether or not there has been
that racial profiling impact.”

Holder was signaling that the Obama team is ready to
unleash the full force of the federal government against
Arizona.

These are not idle threats. We should not be surprised
if any race-based lawsuit from the Obama team include
so-called “hate crimes” allegations. The intent is clear:
demonize — and possibly criminalize — anyone who opposes
the Obama amnesty agenda.

+ + Take A Stand With Arizona And Call For Similar Laws
In Your State

This latest race-based attack on patriotic Americans means
we must do even more to stand with Arizona and against
the Obama-Left’s agenda.

Grassfire Nation and ResistNet are planning on presenting
250,000 petitions at a National Immigration Policy Summit
that begins July 30 in Phoenix. This also coincides with
the first court ruling on the Obama team’s lawsuit against
Arizona.

But that means we must rally more than 108,000 additional
signers over the next two weeks.

Our records show that you have not yet signed
this petition in support of Arizonas immigration
law which also calls for a similar law in your
state. Go here to sign:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=29756&RID=15875693

+ + “We Stand With Arizona Project”

After you sign the petition, join our “We Stand With Arizona
Project” on ResistNet by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=29753&RID=15875693

From here youll find up-to-the-minute resources on this issue.
Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to talk with other citizens
from across the nation who are involved in the growing push
to support S.B. 1070.

The Obama team has just played the race card. They are trying
to use Arizona to demonize patriotic Americans who simply want
the government to secure our borders and stop the illegal invasion.

Thanks in advance for taking action.
