Notes from the Rush Limbaugh Show: 8-31-07

Jason Lewis of KTLK-FM in Minneapolis wrapped up the week on Open Line Friday. Rush will back on Tuesday (with a Best-of-Rush show on Monday).

Typical of the Drive-By Media, you only hear about the few generals who speak out against the war. Those guys get all the attention, but what about the vast majority of military men and women who support the effort? Pete Hegseth, Executive Director of Vets for Freedom, joined the program to give the other side, the positive one. (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here).

Katrina and the so-called mortgage crisis are closely connected. A bailout is a big mistake. (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here).

Whether you agree with the Iraq war or not, the theory is sound: If we can establish a pro-Western democracy in the Middle East, then perhaps we can give alternatives to the Muslim community other than radical extremism.

Judges should stay out of public policy matters. They interpret laws. If the citizens of Iowa want gay marriage, they need to go to the legislature and pass a law.

The Breck Girl said he favors a nationwide ban on smoking in public places.

It’s remarkable. The left has a fascination with totalitarianism. One of the first things tyrants do when they seize power is shut down the press: Cuba, Nicaragua, and now Venezuela, to name a few. Yet according to the liberals, there is only tyranny in America.

Liberals have two sets of rules: one set for them and another for everyone else, which they, of course, are exempt from.

Check out all that, plus the best of Rush at RushLimbaugh.com. Rush in a Hurry will return, with Rush, on Tuesday.

Have fun this holiday weekend, and while you’re doing it, thank the Lord you live in a free country.
