Dear Friend,

The time to act is now! The U.S. House passed the American Horse
Slaughter Prevention Act (H.R. 503) last Congress, but there
wasn’t time for the bill to get through the Senate. This
Congress has already introduced this important legislation
again, however, and we must take action now to prevent the
annual slaughter of more than 100,000 horses in the United
States for human consumption abroad.

Please join with me and contact your U.S. Representative and two
U.S. Senators now and urge them to cosponsor the American Horse
Slaughter Prevention Act (H.R. 503/ S. 311). This bill would
both prevent the slaughter of American horses for human
consumption in the U.S. and prohibit their export for slaughter
in other countries. As of now slaughter houses
can be put up in other states and horses can be taken across the
border to Canada, and Mexico (where they are butchered fully
conscious). We had a win in Texas and in Illinois. Let’s win
here too and keep American Horses from being slaughtered
anywhere in our Country or accross the border. Thank you for
caring.
