As I warned last week, we expect more and more
instances of the Obama Administration
circumventing the Constitution by the use
of regulatory agencies or the actions of his
many unvetted “czars.” The EPA, the FCC, and
other federal agencies are seizing power at
the direction of President Obama, thus
sidestepping Congress and subverting the
Constitution. This travesty must be stopped!

New instances of the Administration side-stepping our system
of checks and balances are increasingly cropping up since
the President and his allies lost control of the House in
the 2010 midterm elections.
For instance, later this week the House Energy Committee
plans to begin hearings regarding the imperative need to
rein in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) power
grab to regulate “greenhouse gasses.”
Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton hopes to
prohibit the EPA from regulating carbon emissions under the
Clean Air Act.
The order to the EPA to regulate greenhouse
gasses came directly from President Obama.
Alarmed Members of Congress point out that
the President and the EPA have badly overstepped
their authority!
Similarly, in December the Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) seized unprecedented power over the Internet in the
name of “Net Neutrality.” The Commissioners acted on a
campaign promise and mandate from President Obama.
Now, according to CNS News, two of the five FCC Commissioners
are sounding the alarm saying, “The Commission lacks the
legal authority to regulate the Internet”…
Republican Commissioner Robert McDowell says,
“The FCC is not Congress. We cannot make laws.”
The FCC’s 3-2 vote to grab power is being challenged in court
by commercial enterprises involved in providing Internet
service. They have legitimate concerns, but I am MUCH
more concerned about this naked disregard for our system
of checks and balances!
Such abuses are inevitable when one branch of government
seeks to overpower the others. Perhaps the greatest single
example of the executive branch manipulating and bullying
another branch was the outrageous process through which
healthcare “reform” was passed.
In March of last year, President Obama and the 111th Congress
passed ObamaCare through a series of backroom deals and
outrageous legislative maneuvers. Now, ObamaCare is being
challenged in courts across the nation, with two federal
judges having declared the law to be unconstitutional
already.
There is a distinct pattern to the Obama
Administration’s attacks on the constitutionally
prescribed checks and balances at the heart of
our form of government.
The Obama plan is to increase the power and
authority of the executive branch while
diminishing the power of the other branches.

Willard, Americans have watched in disgust as backroom
deals, bribery, manipulation, and the President’s imperialistic
style of leadership have forced unconstitutional mandates and
unwanted legislation down our collective throats.
We must not allow Leftists to subvert the Constitution in
order to form a more “socialized” union!
