The chief of the nation’s largest public policy women’s group with 500,000 participating members says when Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz likened a Republican governor’s voting record “to actual physical violence against women,” she went too far.

“It’s a black eye for women leaders. It is a step back for women,” Penny Nance, the head of Concerned Women for America, told WND in a telephone interview just a day after Wasserman Schultz leveled her accusations.

According to media reports inside Wisconsin, Wasserman Schultz was attending a discussion on women’s issues in Milwaukee, and said, “[Gov.] Scott Walker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. But that is reality.”

The report continued, “Wasserman Schultz added: ‘What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch.’”

Even Wisconsin politicians were aghast.
