PRETENDERS AND CONTENDERS part 1

Posted by highlysuspect on December 6, 2006 in politics, Will's articles |

It is December of 2006 and the candidates for the presidency for both parties are beginning to emerge. They range from the fringe lewftwing of the democratic party (John Kerry, Howard Dean, and John Edwards.) to the right wing conservatives (Newt Gringrich, and Rick Santorum), and everyone in between. The purpose of this editorial is to determine the “contenders and pretenders” for each party. I will also introduce several “dark horse” candidates for each party. Part one focuses on the democrats.

Lets begin with the projected frontrunner for the democrats, Sen. Hilary Clinton of New York. Aside from being a U.S. Senator, she is also the wife of former President Bill Clinton. She Knows the inside story of how the office works. She is familiar with world leaders, having traveled with her husband, and on humanitarian missions on her own. Sen. Clinton is tremendously popular among democrats. She has moderate viewpoints on key issues. She will also challenge the fringe left wing party leadership.

On the negative side, Sen. Clinton’s husband’s lack of integrity and his character issues could hurt her. Lets not forget he did commit perjury. Another check on the negative side, The Whitewater investigation, coupled with the suspicious death of Vince Foster and the well-timed death of Ron Brown who was scheduled to testify shortly after his death. Next, Mrs. Clinton will not have the full support of the fringe left wing liberals: aka John Kerry, Howard Dean and John Edwards. Finally, one has to wonder does Hillary Clinton want to be President because she is the best person for the job, or because she has a desire to be the first female President?

With all of that taken into consideration, Mrs. Clinton is a CONTENDER.

Our next candidate is Al Gore. Mr. Gore is emminantly qualified for the job. He served as Bill Clinton’s Vice President for eight years. He knows the system. He is an intelligent man capable of successfully arguing any point against just about every candidate. He is considered a moderate democrat. Negatively, in his Presidential bid, he was not supported openly by Bill Clinton, this hurt his candidacy. Mr. Gore is not decisive in his position on certain issues. Lastly, Al Gore is not a headline act. He can not carry the ticket on his own. Prognosis pretender: however keep reading.

Next is Sen. John Kerry. There are not a lot of positive things to say about the good Senator. He is tall and his name is easy to spell. He is a fringe left wing liberal, who changes his positions more than he changes his socks. Sen. Kerry has no respect for the men and women of the armed services. These people are trained to fight and die to protect the people of America and our way of life. His stock dropped severly just before midterm elections because of statements he made concerning the intelligence of our courageous military personnell. PRETENDER!

Our fourth and fifth candidates are Howard Dean and John Edwards, respectively. Both are considered to be fringe left wing liberals. The one positve thing betwen the two is this; John Edwards is relatively young and has time to come to his senses and shed his ultra left wing views.

Howard Dean was made chairman of the Democratic National Committee so he would not run for President. PRETENDERS

Next on the list is Joe Lieberman. He is a pro-war democrat. He is immensely popular. This was proven when he was reelected as an independent after losing in the democratic primary! Not withstanding his views on the war, Mr. Lieberman is still a liberal. Maybe not as liberal as the three previous candidates, but a liberal nontheless. CONTENDER?

Last on our list, Barrak Obama. He is the rising star of the democratic party. He is young articulate and intelligent. He appears to believe in America and her people, and envisions America’s return to greatness. He is articulate in a way similar to Ronald Reagon. He COULD get his message across. On the down side, The fringe left wingers will never allow Mr. Obama to be elected, for no other reason than he can think for himself! The liberals reject candidates who think for themselves because they can not be controlled by party leadership!

Taking that into cosideration he is a CONTENDER.

After listing thes seven candidates, I believe there are two possible tickets for the upcoming Presidential election; Hilary Clinton and Joe Lieberman. The second; Barrak Obama and Al Gore. These four are the least objectionabe of these seven candidates. Don’t forget, dark horse candidates will follow.

Our good friend Hilary Clinton has the motivation and drive to be an excellant president.
As for if it’s for a good reason that should not be an issue.
Maybe she thinks it is about time for a woman president or hell maybe she just wants to prove she makes a better one than hubby did .
But for all intensive purposes how bad can she do.
She may be more interested in keeping the peace than Bush preaches.
She may get p.m.s. and nook Iraq because she had enough .
But who would really mind that anyway?
And finally she may post pics of herself naked on the web and end all internet porn once and for all…..

I have no doubt she believes she’ll be a better president than wild bill, the question is how much better? It wouldn’t take much for her to best his effort. Hopefully, she will keep it zipped! (if she is lucky enough to win)
