LET THE SEPERATION BEGIN!

Last Sunday was the second debate between democrat contenders for that party’s Presidential nomination. One thing caught my eye. John Edwards said something to the effect that America is far less safe now than it was before the September 11 attacks, and it is because of the President’s decision to to pursue terrorists and their organizations outside this country. We are far less safe because we defended ourselves against an army of COWARDS. My question for this bozo is this; What would you have done? Would you have done nothing and let the attacks keep coming? Would you have gone crying to the United Nations to impose SANCTIONS on al-queda? Would you have invited bin Laden for high tea? Let me put this as clearly as I can, The President of the United States of America is responsible for the life of EVERY American! His duty is to protect the people of this country from an attack from enemies, foreign and domestic! He or She is not obligated to seek the permission from a powerless body of candy-ass world leaders! Senator, you sir, are an idiot!

The only candidate to disagree with Edwards was former First Lady and current Senator from New York, Hillary Clinton. Sen. Clinton basically said we are safer now but we could be safer. That’s right sports fans, Hillary Clinton just proved my point. I stated in a previous editorial (Pretenders and Contenders) that she would challenge the fringe left wing party leadership. Thats exactly what she did. Her party’s leadership believes in coddling our enemies. The problem with that line of thinking is this, if we give these people an inch they are going to want more and more. The first thing they’re going to want is to divide Israel among various Arab countries or given it outright to the Palestinians. Sen. Clinton’s opinion about this country’s degree of safeness directly contradicts party leadership.

Sen. Clinton didn’t win my vote Sunday night, but she did earn some respect.

I believe preserving the security and safety of America and her people must start in this country. We must protect our domestic borders better than we do now. We must make protecting our borders a priority against the war on terror. We must do a better job of patroling the border between Mexico and the United States. The Mexican border should be self-explanatory, the Canadian border is a different story. I’m going to tell a quick true story here, Last August one of my buddies and I drove up to Cornwall, Ontario to see some friends. We live in North East Pennsylvania. The trip takes about 5 hours. On our way home we were stopped at the border by a New York State trooper. It took us roughly 15 minutes to get through the checkpoint! This officer for some reason, could not understand why we drove 5 hours to visit friends! I wouldn’t have a problem with this if it wasn’t for one thing; The car in front of us were allowed to pass after about thirty seconds! This car had Canadian plates, one of the occupants got out of the car briefly and he was obviously not American or of Canadian descent! He appeared to be MiddleEastern. Two Americans get stopped and interrogated by a third American, but a person driving a car with plates from outside the country basically gets a wave through! My friend and I are law abiding CITIZENS of this country and we got stopped. But the foreigners didn’t. We have a problem with our borders. We need to address it.
