THE EXECUTION of SUDDAM

Posted by highlysuspect on January 2, 2007 in politics, Will's articles |

A few days ago the deposed iron fisted ruler of Iraq was executed for CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY. This man was convicted of murdering thousands of people and stood accused of murdering in the neighborhood of 2 million! His execution was deserved. He was a murderous tyrant, a thief, and a truly evil human being.

That being said, a statement was released by the Vatican, which is home to the Pope and leaders of the Catholic church, this statement was by Pope Benedict CONDEMNING the execution of Suddam Hussein. Now, my problem with this condemnation is this, The Catholic Church, in it’s infinite wisdom fails to remember how it used to execute people on a regular basis back in its hayday. Anyone the church believed to be a heretic was executed. Back in those days, Cardinals in the Roman Catholic Church had ultimate power. They did whatever they wanted in the name of the CHURCH! Which was some of the most cruel and heinus acts inflicted on mankind. But for some reason, The Church believes in has the right, If not the moral obligation to condemn the execution of a mass murderer!

Perhaps this is true: Future acts justify past behavior. Meanig this; the cruelty of the Catholic Church of yesterday justifies the cruelty of mankinds tomorrow.

That’s what religion is all about now I guess. Heresy and politics. I’m glad I’m an atheist. By the way have you seen the execution video? The whole one? Pretty…kinda….horrible to say it but…sad.

I have not seen the video. If you would do me the honors and give me the website I would like to check it out if you have it that is.

As far as religion is concerned. you could debate this all day long. Religion is so contradicting that it is not funny. however some religions believe in an eye for an eye. while others believe in turn the other cheek. many religions believe in many things. I personally don’t know the truth only what the media has said about saddam, therefore it is not for me to judge whether he got what he deserved. however if you believe in god then god shall judge him when he gets to the pearly gates.

I haven’t seen the execution either. Is it a bit much that it was released? perhaps it should have been let alone.
